Manka Gate
The Manka Gate, located at the start of 233
Lane of Guangzhou Street, is a “gate” that's
unremarkable to the eye but historically significant, as
it was built during Emperor Jiaqing's rein some two
hundred years ago in the Qing Dynasty, and was used to safeguard the local residences in the area. Whenever an incident happened during the night, this gate would be closed immediately so thus may ensure the safety of the general public.
Transportation:
Proceed to the Ximen MRT Station from the hotel to take the Blue Line going toward Yongning, and alight at the Longshan Temple Station. Take Guangzhou Street going straight for about 50 kilometers. It's roughly 15 minutes by MRT. |
