Dihua Street
Taipei's best preserved and the most meaningful old
treet. The buildings on this old-town street are an
eclectic mixture of Min-Nan, Western, Modern
Contemporary and Baroque architectures, homes to
scores of shops selling traditional Taiwanese items, Chinese medicine, fabric wholesale, and many other feature-oriented retailers. Each year before the Lunar Chinese New Year Festival, this street is transformed into the hub of holiday shopping. As to many, shopping here is an essential Chinese New Year ritual.
Transportation:
Walk to Zhonghua Road and Hengyang Road intersection from the hotel, to take City Bus # 9. Taxi is another option. Roughly 10 minutes via taxi or 25 minutes by bus. |
